BLVD OF ARTS STOPLIGHT
Thanks to one of our diligent residents, the traffic light at the corner of Boulevard of the Arts and 41 is now extended by seven seconds to make it easier to cross that intersection.  This shows what perseverance and determination can do in affecting change within our neighborhood.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION
In an effort to ensure that our garage management is effective, all residents' vehicles must be registered with the Management Office. The vehicle make, model, color and license plate information should be given to the concierge or the property manager.  Please let us know when any vehicle information changes.

MOTHER'S  DAY
Sunday, May 12 is Mother's Day.  Remember that special woman in your life who has done so much for you and your children.

RENAISSANCE SALES
As of April 29, 2002, 175 of the units have been sold.  This figure represents 72% of  total units.

ELECTION WINNER
On  April 23, 2002, Ann Bubeck (#811) was elected to the Renaissance Board of Directors.  Congratulations Ann!

NEW BOARD MEMBER THANKS
I want to thank all the residents who voted for me and also, to thank the residents who voted regardless who they voted for.  After this difficult election, we must put aside our differences and work together to do what is best for all the residents of the Renaissance.     -Ann

PET CLEAN UP
We are still receiving complaints about doggie deposits left outside on the Renaissance property. Please be considerate of your neighbors and dispose of all animal waste properly. As a reminder, pets are not permitted in the swimming pool, spa and deck area and must be kept on a leash in the common areas.

BARBECUE GRILL
Prime barbecue season is upon us, so please see the concierge desk to reserve the barbecue grill. An instruction manual  will be given to you when the grill is reserved. For your safety and enjoyment, it is important to review the manual and to adhere to the necessary safety precautions. Please remember to always clean the grill after each use.

MOVIE NIGHT
The May movie is "The Score" starring Angela Bassett, Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro and Edward Norton.  When expert safecracker (DeNiro) decides it might be time to settle down with his girlfriend and stick to legitimate business, running a jazz nightclub, his friend and partner (Brando) needs DeNiro to pull one last heist.  This movie is an entertaining crime caper with surprises at every turn. The movie will be shown in the Media Room on Thursday, May 9 at 7:30pm.  Popcorn and sodas will be provided.

RECYCLABLES
Please wrap all trash in plastic bags.  Unwrapped trash may cling to the walls of the trash chute and can result in odor problems and pest infestation.  If you see the red light on the trash chute door illuminated, it indicates that someone on another floor is using the trash chute, and the chute doors on all the other floors are temporarily locked.  Wait a few moments until the light goes out and you will then be able to open the chute door.  Please do not leave anything on the floor of the chute room.  All cardboard, boxes and recyclables should be taken to the service elevator alcove on the lobby level and placed in the recycling bins.

LOADING DOCK
If you plan on receiving a delivery, remember to schedule it with the Management Office or concierge.  We have had scheduled deliveries waiting to use the dock when unscheduled deliveries are using the bays.  Scheduling deliveries will ensure availability for everyone.

PARKING
We have noticed that the Visitors parking lot is still used by our residents.   In an effort to keep the lot clear for visitors, we would appreciate it if you would park in your assigned space.  We don't want to deprive visitors a place to park. We appreciate your cooperation.

DOOR MATS
Mats left in the hallway could be a tripping hazard during a fire. For your safety and the safety of your neighbors, please remove all mats from unit doors and place them inside your unit.

SMOKING
Smoking is permitted outside the building but please remember to place your cigarette butts in the ashtrays and not in the outdoor planters or fountains.

MANAGER'S CORNER

GREETINGS!
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new residents!  We want  you to know, whether your residency is new or old, seasonal or permanent, we are always available if you have any questions.

BICYCLE ROOM
Please do not store anything other than a bicycle in the bike room.  Pet crates or engine powered vehicles are not permitted.

We are continuing to work on the following projects:

Garage Ramp: Management has scheduled installation of a ramp at the Southwest corner of the garage.  The ramp will be installed during the month of May.

Stained sidewalks and curbs:  We have secured a vendor to remove the stains from the sidewalk and curbs.  The work is scheduled for May 8th.

Landscaping: The developer is continuing to work with the landscaper to remove dead palm trees. City approval is required for tree removal.

Doors to Garage:  Management has contacted the installer of the locks and door closures for the 2nd and 3rd floor doors from the parking garage into the building.  Management has requested a heavier duty door closure and lock that will accept the wind conditions and slamming that occur.

Bar Code Access Reader:  Management has received  proposals for the bar code reader and will present them to the developer for approval.  The  reader will work with the existing gate access system. The scanner will control the entry of vehicles equipped with a bar code by reading the windshield tags inside each registered automobile.
